Holmdel School District Welcomes New Athletic Supervisor
Matthew Kukoda was named Supervisor of Athletics, Health & Physical Education by the Holmdel Board of Education.

HOLMDEL, NJ – Holmdel Township Public Schools gained a new leader in athletics this summer. Matthew Kukoda has been named Supervisor of Athletics, Health & Physical Education by the Holmdel Board of Education.
The incoming supervisor calls Holmdel an ‘aspirational district’, touting the district’s attention to success in both academics and the playing field. He stresses that the athletics, health and physical education department will be an integral part of the educational mission of the district, namely in reinforcing core values such as honor, integrity, respect, responsibility, and creative thinking. “The district aligns with my unwavering commitment to developing young men and women to be their best academically and athletically,” Kukoda told Patch. “I am excited to work with such an accomplished faculty, staff and administration to achieve those goals.”

The educator comes to Holmdel after spending six years at Wall Township Public Schools. He has served as Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, coached basketball and taught social studies at the district. He holds a master’s degree in education from Seton Hall University as well as a bachelor’s degree in education from Monmouth University, according to LinkedIn. He is currently a doctor of education candidate at Seton Hall University.
Kukoda recalls the dedication of the coaches and student-athletes in the district as a “fine example of all that is great in high school athletics.” Stepping into his new role in Holmdel, he is excited to see the same caliber of collaboration and community that he enjoyed in previous roles.
