Holmdel State Trooper Revives Collapsed Man At Wall Twp Rest Stop

After determining that the man had no pulse, Trooper John Taggart performed a life saving effort at a Garden State Parkway service area.

WALL, NJ - A New Jersey State Trooper from the Troop “D” Holmdel Station performed life-saving CPR earlier this month on a man who was unresponsive and not breathing at a Garden State Parkway rest stop in Wall Township.

On Jan. 22 at approximately 4:49 p.m., Trooper John Taggart was dispatched to a report of a man who reportedly suffered a medical episode and collapsed in the bathroom of the Monmouth Service Area.

When Trooper Taggart arrived, he found the 44-year-old man lying on the floor unconscious and without a pulse. Taggart immediately began to perform CPR and the victim began breathing a short time later after several chest compressions.
