Holmdel Twp Committee GOP Primary Election: The Results Are In

HOLMDEL, NJ – Domenico "D.J." Luccarelli and Holmdel mayor Greg Buontempo were declared GOP winners of the Holmdel Township Committee race, according to the Monmouth County Clerk's Office.

Luccarelli finished first in the race with 1,519 votes, followed by Buontempo, who received 1,313. School Board President Victoria "Vicky" Flynn placed third with 1,259 votes, while Buontempo's running mate Ron E. Emma garnered 1,161.

Luccarelli and Buontempo are slated to face Democratic candidates Joseph Romano and Mike Jenkins in the Nov. 3 election.

The winners were finalized almost a month after the July 7 primary election, which saw an unprecedented number of mail-in ballots due to the coronavirus pandemic. The four nominees are after two open seats on the Holmdel Township Committee. One of those seats is currently occupied by Buontempo.

Incumbent Rocco Pasccuci will not be running for reelection in 2020.
