HOLMDEL, NJ – Amid conversations at the local, national and international level regarding police-community relations, the Holmdel Township Committee recently formed an Ad Hoc Human Relations Committee to facilitate dialogue between diverse views.

“This committee will be charged with making recommendations to the Mayor and Township Committee for the development of policies, procedures and programs that will aid in the prevention and elimination of all types of discrimination including discrimination based on race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, ancestry or marital status,” reads a post announcing the formation of the committee on the township municipal website.

The township previously adopted a motion to establish the Ad Hoc Human Relations Committee during a July 28 meeting. Weber was the official to introduce the motion to form an ad hoc committee on human relations for the development of programs and initiatives to educate the community about discrimination, according to meeting minutes posted to the municipal website.
