A water main break in Holmdel has prompted commuting delays in the area Monday morning, authorities said.

HOLMDEL, NJ - A water main break in Holmdel has prompted commuting delays in the area Monday morning, authorities said.
As of 6:29 a.m., there's a water main break on NJ 35 southbound CR 516/South Laurel Avenue in Holmdel. All lanes are currently closed and detoured, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
The water main break began Sunday morning at Laurel Avenue near the Transit Bridge and Route 35 South between Laurel and Palmer Avenue, according to Holmdel police.

"The water company is currently working to shut the water off. Please avoid the area," Holmdel police said in a statement.
