Holmdel's New Splash Pad/Playground Opens Aug. 8
It features five in-ground water sprays and a giant baseball in the middle that sprays water when you push a button.

HOLMDEL, NJ —Kids, get ready: The new playground and splash pad at Cross Farms Park in Holmdel officially opens next Tuesday, Aug. 8! It opens at 11:30 a.m. next Tuesday and all are welcome to try out the newest addition to Holmdel parks.
This is an ADA-accessible playground that has a ramp so kids who use wheelchairs can access it. It also has an artificial turf surface that's bouncy and safe should a child fall.
The splash pad — Holmdel Recreation Director Bob Ward calls it a "pad" so nobody expects a water park —is 30 feet in diameter and has a baseball theme. It features five in-ground water sprays and a giant baseball in the middle that sprays water when you push a button. It's the only splash park of its kind in Holmdel Township.

"It's a small water feature compared to some of the things out there, but it's enough for kids to get wet and have fun at the park," said Ward.
The total cost to install both the playground and splash pad was $329,850. $137,000 of that came from a grant from the Monmouth County Park System. The remaining $192,850 was allocated through Holmdel's capital program. Cross Farm Park is located at 10 Longbridge Road in Holmdel, New Jersey.
