Jersey Freeze Ice Cream Coming To Bell Works In Holmdel

Jersey Freeze (it's rumored to be Bruce Springsteen's favorite ice cream shop) will open inside the Bell Works facility later this year.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A popular Jersey Shore ice cream place, Jersey Freeze, will open inside the Bell Works facility later this year, a spokeswoman for Bell Works confirmed to Patch.

Jersey Freeze (it's rumored to be Bruce Springsteen's favorite ice cream shop) has been open since 1952 in rural Freehold. They are only now venturing to expand, with a second location at Bell Works. It will open likely this spring across from Mezza Luna Italian restaurant, which has also not yet opened inside Bell Works.

Jersey Freeze will occupy 1,000 square feet on the ground floor of Bell Works' pedestrian street. Their approximate move-in date is late spring 2019, a spokeswoman for Bell Works said.

The Bell Works locale will just be an ice cream shop; the hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches they serve in Freehold will not be available at the Bell Works location.

A hotel is supposed to open on the roof of Bell Works, but that likely won't open until 2020. Currently in operation inside Bell Labs is a boutique, CityBarnCountryPenthouse, a hair salon, a Montessori school infants on up, the Holmdel public library branch and a bevy of fast-casual eateries. Mezza Luna will be Bell Works' first formal, sit-down establishment, and the first that serves alcohol.
