Keansburg Man Charged With Luring, Child Endangerment
The man was arrested Friday at a Freehold indoor entertainment center, where police said he thought he was meeting a 14-year-old boy.

KEANSBURG, NJ — A Keansburg man was arrested Friday after detectives with the Monmouth County prosecutor's office said he posted an online ad saying he wanted to have a "sleepover" with a child, and then subsequently met a detective posing as a 14-year-old boy at an indoor entertainment center in Freehold.
William McMahon, 64, is charged with attempted sexual assault, luring and endangering the welfare of a child, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.
The indoor entertainment center in Freehold was not named by law enforcement.

McMahon was arrested as a result of an undercover investigation that began in late July. An undercover detective with the county prosecutor's office, posing as a 14-year-old boy, responded to an online posting by McMahon seeking to have a “sleep over” with the child, Gramiccioni said. During the course of further online discussions, McMahon allegedly made clear his interest in having sex with the juvenile, Gramiccioni said.
Just this past Friday, Aug. 3, McMahon allegedly traveled from his home in Keansburg to an indoor entertainment center in Freehold Township, where he believed he would meet the 14-year old boy to further his plan to sexually assault the minor, police said.
