Local Woman Injured In Holmdel DWI Crash, Police Report

Breaking: A 64-year-old Holmdel woman had to be hospitalized Tuesday after she was injured by a man allegedly driving drunk on Middletown Rd

HOLMDEL, NJ — A 64-year-old Holmdel woman had to be hospitalized Tuesday after she was injured by a man allegedly driving drunk on Middletown Road, police said.

The serious crash occurred at 3:35 p.m. on Middletown Road between McCampbell and Stilwell roads, Holmdel police reported, and they shared this photo from the crash scene.

Police said a Staten Island resident, Ryan Peyton, 36, was driving drunk southbound on Middletown Road. His Ford F250 pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2015 Toyota Camry driven by the Holmdel woman; she was headed north on Middletown Rd. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and roll over in a ditch.

The Holmdel woman was rushed to Bayshore Medical Center by the Holmdel First Aid Squad with non-life threatening injuries. Her condition Wednesday is unknown.

The Staten Island man was charged with driving while intoxicated and was issued summonses for several motor vehicle violations.
