Man Fatally Hit By Car In Hazlet Home Depot Parking Lot

This happened in the afternoon last Thursday, Jan. 19, and the man died of his injuries, said Hazlet Police.

HAZLET, NJ — A man was fatally hit by a car last Thursday in the parking lot of the Hazlet Home Depot, according to Hazlet Police.

The man, identified as a 75-year-old Aberdeen man, died of his injuries two days later at a local hospital. He was airlifted by helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, which is a regional trauma unit, where he succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 21.

The man was struck by a car in the Home Depot parking lot sometime in the afternoon of January 19, said police. The driver, a man, remained at the scene.

Because the incident does not appear to be criminal, at this time no arrests have been made, said Hazlet Police. However, the investigation is ongoing, police said.
