Man Had Drugs, Switchblade In Hazlet: Police

Police say the man had three different types of drugs on him.

HAZLET, NJ— Hazlet Police arrested a man they say had multiple types of drugs and a switch blade, according to arrest records.

Timothy Kran, 39, from Brick, was arrested in Hazlet on Monday, police said.

Police found three wax folds of heroin, seventeen Suboxone, and twelve Valium pills on Kran. Suboxone, a prescription medication used to combat heroin addiction, and Valium can be abused and are illegial without a prescription.

He had drug paraphernalia as well, police said: they found two hypodermic syringes, a crack pipe, and seven empty wax folds. A stiletto switchblade knife was also found, police said.

Kran was charged with possession of a weapon, possession of an unlawful weapon, and possession of a weapon with the purpose to use it unlawfully, three counts of possessing a controlled dangerous substance, and failing to turn drugs over to police voluntarily.

He is being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institute on $47,750 bail.
