MANALAPAN, NJ - Released by Manalapan police and unedited by Patch, all reported crimes and arrests from Aug. 13-25:

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at approximately 8:34am, patrols responded to a residence located on Shinnecock Drive in reference to a report of Theft. The victim, a 50-year-old Manalapan resident, advised that sometime overnight an unknown actor(s) removed the mirror caps to his personal vehicle. The incident is currently under investigation. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Monday, August 24, 2020, at approximately 5:56pm, Patrolman Jeremy Slad conducted a motor vehicle stop on Smithburg Road for a motor vehicle violation. The passenger, Keith Dyer, a 54-year-old male, single, unemployed and resident of Jackson, NJ was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest by the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Dyer was arrested and transported to the Manalapan Township Police Department where he was processed and released. Patrolman Jeremy Slad was the arresting officer.

On Monday, August 24, 2020, at approximately 3:03pm, the victim, a 32-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of Harassment. The victim advised that his neighbor is constantly harassing him and his wife. The report was handled by Patrolman James Guarino.

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at approximately 1:54pm, patrols responded to a grocery store located on State Highway 9 in reference to a report of Theft. A representative from the store advised that an unknown adult male removed various products from the store by placing them in a backpack and left the area on a bicycle in an unknown direction of travel. Patrolman James Joiner handled the report.

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, at approximately 10:03am, a 55-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of a Motor Vehicle Burglary/Theft. The victim advised that sometime during the overnight hours of Sunday August 16, 2020, his EZPass was removed from his parked and unlocked vehicle. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.

On Friday, August 21, 2020 at approximately 3:00pm, patrols responded to the Ocean County Jail and took custody of Kevin Darbo, a 24-year-old male, divorced, employed as a bulkhead installer and resident of Barnegat, NJ. Mr. Darbo had a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $2000.00. Mr. Darbo was processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis was the arresting officer.

On Monday, August 18, 2020, at approximately 12:48pm, Janessa Gurulle, a 24-year-old female, single, self-employed and resident of Freehold, NJ, turned herself in at Manalapan Township Police Headquarters regarding two warrants that were issued for her arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $156.00 and by the Marlboro Township Municipal Court in the amount of $156.00. Ms. Gurulle was processed and released after posting bail. Patrolman Jeff Emslie was the arresting officer.

On August 17, 2020, at approximately 9:56am, patrols responded to a residence located in Manalapan in reference to a report of Harassment. The victim, a 46-year-old resident of Manalapan advised that a neighbor has been harassing him by frequently contacting the police department to make allegations of harassment against the reporting party. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Monday, August 17, 2020 at approximately 1:14pm, Patrolman Ross Dessel conducted a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 9 for a motor vehicle violation. Further investigation revealed that the driver, Andrew Harrison, a 32 year-old single, employed as a tree service worker, and resident of Allentown, NJ was found to have two warrants that were issued for his arrest by the Englishtown Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00 and by the Bucks County Superior Court, PA. Mr. Harrison was arrested and transported to Manalapan Township Police Department where he was processed and then transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Patrolman Ross Dessel was the arresting officer.

On Sunday, August 16, 2020, at approximately 2:29pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Inwood Drive in reference to a report of Criminal Mischief. The victim, a 58-year-old Manalapan resident advised that sometime between 12:30am and 2:00pm, an unknown actor(s) punctured all four tires to his vehicle.This case is pending further investigation. Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis handled the report.

On Sunday, August 16, 2020, at approximately 10:01pm, the victim, a 39-year-old Manalapan resident, reported an incident of Criminal Mischief. The victim advised that an unknown actor(s) applied toilet paper to the trees of her property. Patrolman Matthew Meyler handled the report.

On Friday, August 14, 2020, at approximately 10:12PM, patrols responded to the Woodbridge Police Department and took custody of Jeffery Weisslitz, a 46 year-old male, single, employed as a therapist and resident of Manalapan. Mr. Weisslitz had a warrant that was issued for his arrest by the Manalapan Township Municipal Court in the amount of $1000.00 Mr. Weisslitz was
processed and transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail. Patrolman Peter Bylsma was the arresting officer.

On Friday, August 14, 2020, at approximately 10:45am, the victim, a 74-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquarters and reported an incident of Fraud. The victim advised that she was defrauded by an unknown actor(s) utilizing a computer virus/phone scam. This incident is pending further investigation. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the report.

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at approximately 4:51pm, patrols responded to a residence located on Rumford Way in reference to a report of Harassment. The victim, a 36-year-old Manalapan resident, advised that a neighbor had thrown debris onto her property and was part of an ongoing neighbor dispute. Patrolman Philip Accatatta handled the report.

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at approximately 12:30pm, the victim, a 58-year-old Manalapan resident responded to Manalapan Township Police Headquartersand reported an incident of Motor Vehicle Theft. The victim advised that his vehicle was taken without his consent. It is believed that the vehicle was taken by a 28-year-old unemployed male from Manalapan. Patrolman Bart Mattaliano handled the incident.

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at approximately, 10:23am, patrols responded to a residence located on Amberly Drive in reference to a report of Criminal Mischief. The victim, a 67-year-old Manalapan resident, advised that an unknown actor(s) damaged the rear passenger side window of his vehicle. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at approximately 7:56 am, patrols responded to a gas station located on State Highway 33 in reference to a report of Theft. An attendant of the gas station advised that a subject left without paying for $54.00 worth of gas. The suspect was identified before leaving the scene and criminal complaints are pending. Patrolman Brian Schank handled the report.

On Thursday, August 13th 2020 at approximately 830am, a Manalapan Resident in the area Oakland Mills Road reported that three vehicles parked in their driveway were entered and items were removed sometime during the night. The vehicles are believed to have been left open/unlocked. The 50 year old victim reported an approximate loss of $6,000 worth of items.
Residents should be reminded to lock all of your vehicles, to remove any visible valuables and to remove your keys and key fobs from your vehicle when you park it, on the street and in your driveway. Surveillance cameras captured the incident and there is an ongoing and pending investigation into this matter and similar incidents. Ptl. Matt Porricelli handled the report.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
