Meridian Health, Raritan Bay Medical Center Merge

The merger gives Wall-based Meridian reach into Middlesex County.

Holmdel, NJ - Meridian Health and Raritan Bay Medical Center completed their merger Monday, it was reported in the Asbury Park Press.

The merger gives Meridian reach into Middlesex County. Raritan Bay Medical Center’s two hospitals, one in Perth Amboy and the other in Old Bridge, will now join Meridian, headquartered in Wall.

Meridian already operates six hospitals in the area: Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, Ocean Medical Center in Brick, Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, Southern Ocean Medical Center in Stafford and K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in Neptune.

Next, Meridian plans to merge with Hackensack University Health Network. It is awaiting approval for that merger to be finalized.
