Middletown Woman Charged With DWI, Had 4-Year-Old In Car, Holmdel Police Said
A Middletown woman was arrested Monday on Rt. 35 by Holmdel police and charged with DWI with her toddler daughter in the car.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Holmdel police arrested a Middletown woman Monday and charged her with DWI and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance after she crashed her car on Highway 35. Police also said she had her 4-year-old daughter in the car.
Brandy Haines, 36, was impaired when she got into a two-car crash on Rt. 35 around 3:20 p.m. Monday, Holmdel police said.
She rear-ended another vehicle and then drove off into the Holmdel Town Center parking lot, Holmdel police Sgt. Thomas Foley said. When she was stopped by Patrolman Joe VanPelt he "observed that her behavior was very erratic and her speech was slurred to the point where she was almost unintelligible," Foley said.

The toddler girl was unharmed and was picked up by her father. Haines was charged with DWI, being under the influence of drugs, driving intoxicated with a minor passenger and child endangerment and she was taken to the Monmouth County jail.
