Memorial Run For Fallen Military Will End With Holmdel Ceremony
Police advise motorists that certain roads in the township will briefly close Sunday afternoon for the NJ Run for the Fallen.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The NJ Run for the Fallen honors New Jersey veterans killed in combat and will make its way to Holmdel and the Gold Star Family Monument on Sunday, Sept. 25.
Police advise that certain roads in the township will be closed briefly on Sunday for the military memorial run.
It is the 14th annual run, according to the organization's website, and is underway now through Sunday in the state. It began in Cape May Sept. 21 and travels north to turn west to Holmdel to the Gold Star Family Monument Sunday.

In September 2015, the NJ Gold Star Family Monument was dedicated adjacent to the Vietnam Era Museum & Educational Center in Holmdel. The Monument honors the sacrifices of those families who have a lost a loved one in defense of our country, according to its website.
The run, in which the military honors fallen heroes and Gold Star families, will come through town at about 3:30 p.m. and should finish around 5:30 p.m., police said.

The following roadways will be briefly closed to traffic while the runners pass through: McCampbell Road, Route 520, Holmdel Road, Robert's Road, Crawfords Corner Road and Bell Works.
Police ask motorists to be patient for the runners.
