Mother, Child Injured After Being Hit By A Car On Route 36 In Hazlet

HAZLET, NJ — A mother and her young child in a stroller were hit by a car on Route 36 south Thursday, Sept. 8, between Laurel and Palmer avenues, police said.

At about 12:01 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to a post on the department Facebook site.

Responding officers said they came upon the woman and her young child in a stroller who were both injured and then taken to Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel. Their conditions remained unknown as of Thursday night.

Police did not provide information about the driver in the incident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Hazlet Township Police Department, Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and The Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team.
