Newest Holmdel Police Officer Is Hired

HOLMDEL,N.J.—Gabrielle J. DeGroat has been appointed by the Township Committee to fill a vacancy in the Police Department.

DeGroat, currently completing training at the Monmouth County Police Academy, was cleared for employment beginning on June 1 at a salary of $46,384.20 annually, Township Clerk Wendy Patrovich confirmed.

She said the date for DeGroat's swearing in has not been set as yet.

Her hiring was recommended to the committee by Acting Chief Frank Allocco.

DeGroat is appointed contingent upon approval by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission, the hiring resolution states. The resolution was adopted May 24.
