HOLMDEL, NJ — Governor Mikie Sherrill's proposed budget for 2026-27 includes a record $12.4 billion in aid to the state's 574 public school districts, including the Holmdel Township School District.

On Thursday, the NJ Department of Education released its aid figures for each school district across the state.

Similar to the 2025-26 school year, most aid increases were capped at 6%, with the majority of aid cuts capped at 3%.

In Holmdel, the school district will see a slight rise in state aid from the 2025-26 school year.

In total, Holmdel Township public schools will receive $5,053,820 for the 2026-27 school year, a $72,741 (or 1%) difference from 2025-26.

During Wednesday’s Board of Education meeting, the board will hold a 2026-27 budget discussion and review agenda action items set for the March 25 board meeting.

Wednesday night’s meeting will take place at Holmdel High School and begin at 7 p.m.
