Obituary: John T. Tuohy
Joseph T. Tuohy, a retired Monmouth County Sheriff's Officer and former Holmdel police officer, died on May 29.

Joseph T. Tuohy, a retired Monmouth County Sheriff’s Officer died on May 29, after a lengthy illness, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to a obituary posted on the website of the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home:
Tuohy, 43, of Manahawkin, was born in Red Bank, grew up in Union Beach, and lived in several Monmouth County towns.

Joseph retired from a dedicated 20 year career in law enforcement, having worked as a Corrections Officer for Monmouth County, as a patrolman for Holmdel Police Department, and as a Sheriff’s Officer for Monmouth County. In his earlier years, he pioneered the Union Beach Police Explorer program as well as volunteered and held rank in the Middletown Police Explorer Post 102. He was a communicant of St Mary’s of the Pines R. C. Church in Manahawkin, NJ.
Surviving are his wife of 18 years, Jacqueline Hines Tuohy and their children, Sean and Hailey Tuohy of Manahawkin, NJ; his mother Catherine Barrett Tuohy and sister Katie Tuohy of Whiting, NJ; and his innumerable “Brothers & Sisters in Blue.”

Joseph’s passing was preceded by that of his father, Joseph R. Tuohy in 2003.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:30 am at St Mary’s Chapel, 26 Leonardville Rd. New Monmouth, NJ.
