Pedestrian Crash, Construction Delays In NJ: Patch AM Traffic Digest

Good morning, New Jersey Patch readers! Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your travel on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Traffic Updates

North Jersey

As of 7:15 a.m., there are delays and an earlier incident on NJ 15 southbound from south of CR 615/Edison Road to north of CR 699/Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson Township.

As of 6:03 a.m., there are delays at the Holland Tunnel south tunnel eastbound New Jersey Side - Toll Plaza in Jersey City. The travel time to the New York side is 20 minutes from New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and 20 minutes from New Jersey 139 at Tonnelle Circle.

As of 6:01 a.m., there's construction on the George Washington Bridge upper level westbound ramp to Palisades Interstate Parkway in Fort Lee. 1 right lane closed until 2:30 p.m.

Central Jersey

As of 6:02 a.m., there's a malfunctioning traffic light on NJ 37 in both west and eastbound directions at CR 38/Clifton Avenue in Toms River. No cross traffic on Clifton Avenue.

As of 5:49 a.m., there's a crash investigation and a pedestrian accident on NJ 35 northbound at Victory Bridge in Sayreville. All lanes closed.

South Jersey

As of 6:32 a.m., there's an overturned truck on NJ 54 southbound ramp to US 322 in Folsom. All lanes are open, ramp is closed and detoured.

As of 5:52 a.m., there's roadwork on the New Jersey Turnpike northbound between north of Interchange 1 - Delaware Memorial Bridge in Oldmans Township and south of Interchange 2 - US 322 in Woolwich Township. 1 left lane closed.

Transit Updates

North Jersey Coast Line and Northeast Corridor trains are experiencing temporary schedule adjustments through May 30th due to major repair work to the Laurel Avenue Bridge in Holmdel. See here for updated timetables.

Main-Bergen County train #1100, the 6:00 a.m. Hoboken arrival is cancelled at Ramsey Route 17 due to mechanical issues.

All other NJ Transit train lines are running on or close to schedule.

NJ Weather

Expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 68.
