Pedestrian Hit By Car In Hazlet Sunday

The accident happened on Rt. 36 at around 3 p.m. and the pedestrian was seriously injured. Hazlet police are not releasing much more.

HAZLET, NJ — A pedestrian was struck by a car Sunday afternoon on Rt. 36 in Hazlet, police there announced, but are releasing few other details about what appears to be a very serious incident.

The accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on Highway 36 at Seagate Avenue, in front of Advanced Auto Parts, according to Monmouth County Police, Fire & EMS. The accident shut down Rt. 36 from Poole Ave. to Union Ave. for several hours Sunday.

According to Monmouth County Police, Fire & EMS, the pedestrian had to be taken by medevac from the scene with a serious injury. Patch is hearing the pedestrian remains in critical condition as of Sunday night. Hazlet police would not release any other information, such as the age or gender of the pedestrian or details about the driver involved.
