Here Is New Jersey's Favorite Easter Candy

The Garden State leads the nation in sales for one particular confection. Is it the top on your list?

NEW JERSEY — Easter is just around the corner, and it's also one of the busiest candy days of the year.

According to a recent Instacart survey, 65 percent of Americans believe that Easter has the best holiday candy selection, and more than half prefer it to Halloween.

Instacart’s trends expert, Laurentia Romaniuk explains why that might be.

“There’s a sensible reason many folks are more partial to Easter candy. With marshmallow chicks, chocolate bunnies and eggs, and jelly beans hitting store shelves just once a year, consumers are able to look forward to the limited-time offering of the specialty candies, which often feature pastel colors, unique shapes, and indulgences like creme fillings or malted chocolate,” Romaniuk said.

Easter candy changes in popularity in various parts of the country, and Instacart recently released data on how it ranges in each state.

Here's everything you need to know about New Jersey's ranking.

Despite this, Peeps and jelly beans experience the greatest growth during the two weeks leading up to Easter, increasing by 111 percent and 109 percent, respectively.

According to the survey, New Jersey also purchases more Peeps Marshmallow Chicks than any other state, followed by Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
