Prominent Holmdel Volunteer John Scagnelli Dies at 68
Mr. Scagnelli was the former president of the HYAA, a former Holmdel Planning Board Member, and was also a parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Holmdel.

John B. Scagnelli, 68, beloved husband, father and friend, of Holmdel, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. John was born in New York City and has resided in Holmdel for the past 26 years.
Mr. Scagnelli was the former president of the HYAA, a former Holmdel Planning Board Member, and was also a parishioner of St. Catharine's R.C. Church in Holmdel.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Scagnelli; son, John Scagnelli; daughter, Kara Scagnelli; sister, Madeline Poggioli; nieces, Donna, Lisa, and Kerry; nephew, Joseph, and his dog Dante.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 6 at St. Catharine's R.C. Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.
