RED BANK, NJ - A Sea Bright man who was shot in Paterson was treated in Red Bank, a municipality nearly 53 miles away, according to authorities.

The 27-year-old, who was not identified by officials, was the victim of a shooting that occurred near Putnam Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson around 11 a.m. on Jan. 8, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said in a joint statement.

The Sea Bright resident was transferred from Riverview Medical Center to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was listed as in stable condition Saturday.

Red Bank police were called to Riverview and later notified Paterson police once it was determined that the shooting had occurred in Passaic County.

The victim was reportedly robbed at gunpoint and then shot by the same individual, according to the statement. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
