Sign-Up Dates For Holmdel Full-Day Kindergarten

HOLMDEL, NJ — Holmdel school district welcomes all families with children turning five by October 1, 2020 to register their child for full-day kindergarten for the upcoming 2020/21 school year.

Registration for the 2020-2021 program is scheduled for January 29-31 at Village Elementary School. Information about how to schedule an appointment is available on the Village Elementary School website.

After several years of planning, Holmdel public schools launched its first full-day kindergarten program in September 2019.

Previously, the district had only funded a half-day program.

“It has been incredibly rewarding to be able to offer parents the kind of program that they’ve
asked the district to put in place," said Holmdel Superintendent Dr. Robert McGarry. "Research on full-day kindergarten found that children who attended for a full day program had better academic outcomes the following year as well as more self-confidence."
