St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel has been nominated for Basie Awards.

Two students from St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel have been nominated for Basie Awards.

The Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank has been giving awards for excellence in Monmouth County high school theater productions since 2005.

The assessment and evaluation of the productions is patterned after the Tony Awards, according to the theater’s website. This year, 18 dramas and 27 musicals were evaluated by the awards committee.

The awards are sponsored by Barnabas Health and Monmouth Medical Center.

Winners will be announced on May 20.
