Stolen BMW Sighting Leads To Police Chase, Arrests in Holmdel
Vehicle being pursued crashed at Route 520 and Everett Road, Middletown; two of four occupants were arrested fleeing in Thompson Park.
HOLMDEL,N.J.— Two men have been charged with receiving stolen property after two multi-town police pursuits and a crash in a stolen BMW.
On Friday, May 13, shortly after midnight, a Tinton Falls police officer located a BMW 3-Series sedan that was reported stolen as reported by Lawrenceville police. The BMW fled from the Tinton Falls officer and the pursuit was terminated on the Garden State Parkway due to excessive speed.
The BMW exited the parkway and was located by Holmdel police on Crawfords Corner Road. The vehicle again fled from officers and after a brief pursuit, the BMW crashed at the intersection of County Route 520 and Everett Road in Middletown.

The BMW was occupied by four males, who fled on foot after the crash. After a thorough search, with assistance from the Middletown, Tinton Falls, Red Bank, Colts Neck and Brookdale Police Departments, Holmdel OEM and Monmouth County Park Rangers, two of the four men were located and arrested on the property of Thompson Park.

- Kyree D. Lane Jr. , 18, of Grove Street, Irvington.
- Dupree Turner, 18, of South Clinton Street, East Orange.
Lane and Turner were charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and obstruction of law. They were both remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution for a bail hearing. One minor injury was suffered.
