Suspect Sought In Stabbing At Hazlet Gas Station
Police seek the public's help in identifying a person filmed at a Hazlet Shell station on Aug. 6, where an employee was stabbed.

HAZLET, NJ — During an attempted armed robbery recently at the Shell gas station, 1355 Highway 36, an employee was stabbed, and police are asking the public for information about the suspect.
On Aug. 6, a person wearing dark clothing, who had his face completely covered with a long-sleeve thermal that was tied around his head, got into an altercation with employees at the gas station after they attempted to stop the person, police said.
During the fight, the suspect stabbed one of the employees. In the struggle the face covering came off.

The suspect then ran from the scene and a K9 was brought in to conduct a track for the suspect. During the track, the K9 located a folded Calvin Klein sweatshirt believed to be worn by the suspect near the bridge by Green Grove Apartments in Keyport.
The police provided pictures of the person being sought and his clothing.
