Three Cars Stolen In Holmdel Tuesday Morning, July 24

The vehicles were taken from driveways of homes on Carla Court, Tycor Run and Stoney Brook Road. All had been left unlocked.

HOLMDEL, NJ — Three cars were stolen in Holmdel this morning, Tuesday, July 24, Holmdel police announced on Facebook. This bring the total number of car thefts in Monmouth County so far this summer to 14; Patch has been keeping a tally.

All three auto thefts occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 24, police said, and all three cars had been left unlocked with the key fobs inside. The vehicles were taken from driveways of homes on Carla Court, Tycor Run and Stoney Brook Road.

One vehicle has been recovered in North Jersey.

Holmdel, July 24: Three unlocked cars were stolen in the early morning hours from homes on Carla Court, Tycor Run and Stoney Brook Road. All had been left unlocked with the key fobs inside.

Colts Neck, July 2: Mercedes Benz S55 stolen from a Deerpath Lane driveway. The luxury car was left unlocked, with the keys inside.

Long Branch, June 27: At 9 p.m. that night, a man approached the car's owner in his driveway on Norwood Avenue in Long Branch and asked for directions. The car, a 2017 Infiniti QX6, was running in the driveway. The suspect then lifted his sweatshirt and displayed a gun. When the victim backed away, the suspect took the car. It was later recovered that same week in a crash in Ocean Township.

Manalapan, June 26: At approximately 7:22 a.m., a 68-year-old resident of Manalapan reported that during the early morning hours an unknown actor(s) removed a 2010 Jaguar XF valued at $20,000 from a Royal Court driveway.

Holmdel, overnight June 21 into June 22: An unlocked BMW was stolen from where it was parked on Lori Lane.

Rumson, June 22: Two cars were stolen from Rumson driveways overnight Friday, June 22, Rumson police said. Both cars were parked in the driveway of the homes and had been left unlocked with a key fob inside.
Manalapan, June 13: An 86-year-old Holmdel resident went into a Chinese restaurant at 300 Gordon's Corner Road to eat lunch and his car was stolen while he was inside. He said he had left the vehicle unlocked with the key inside. The Volvo was later recovered in New Brunswick.

Colts Neck, June 11 through June 13: Three cars in total were stolen over that period, including a Range Rover and an Audi. One car was stolen from Freemont Lane and two from North Point Drive in Colts Neck. One of the cars was recovered in Marlboro Two. All had been left unlocked and parked in driveways, with the key fob inside. A fourth incident occurred where a Sterling Ridge resident said they heard strange sounds around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13. Police say it was a possible attempted fourth auto theft, but the suspect was scared away by homeowner.
