Three Police Officers Injured At Bar In Hazlet

Three Hazlet police officers were injured in an incident at the Park Tap and Grill on Rt. 35 Saturday night. They had to be hospitalized.

HAZLET, NJ — Three Hazlet police officers, among others, were injured in an incident at the Park Tap and Grill Saturday night, police report. The Park Tap and Grill used to be known as Park East, and is a popular watering hole and restaurant on Rt. 35.

The officers were injured seriously enough to require hospitalization, Hazlet police said in a Facebook post. Multiple other people were injured as well.

The incident happened at around 10 p.m. Saturday. Residents reported seeing multiple cop cars in the restaurant's parking lot Saturday night.

Hazlet police would not release more details than that, but they say they are looking for witnesses to what happened. Anyone who has any information is asked to call Hazlet detectives at 732-264-6565.
