Unlocked BMW Stolen From Holmdel Driveway Monday

First Manalapan, then Fair Haven, now Holmdel. Yet another unlocked luxury vehicle was stolen from a Monmouth County driveway:

HOLMDEL, NJ — First Manalapan, then Fair Haven, now Holmdel. Yet another unlocked luxury vehicle was stolen from a Monmouth County driveway, and this most recent theft happened this morning, Monday, Nov. 19 in Holmdel:

At 4:10 a.m. today, Holmdel police received a call of a 2015 gray BMW-228I that had been stolen from a driveway on Wagon Way. The car had been left unlocked with the key fob inside, Holmdel police said.

Another vehicle in the driveway was burglarized but not stolen.

Unlocked cars stolen from Manalapan and Fair Haven driveways, too:

Prior to this morning's incident, on Oct. 23, a 2017 Mercedes Benz GLS was stolen from a Manalapan driveway. The car had been left with the key fob inside the vehicle, and it had been left unlocked, police said. The owner said it happened just before 11 p.m., when they saw two men walk up their driveway, get inside the car, start it and drive away.

Before that, a car was stolen Tuesday, Oct. 16. A 54-year-old Manalapan resident called police to report that their 2016 Mercedes CLS was taken sometime during the overnight hours from the driveway of their Joseph Street home. The key fob had been left inside the vehicle when it was parked. The Mercedes, valued at approximately $70,000, was subsequently located later that day in Elizabeth.

Then, a day later, on the morning of Wednesday, October 17 yet a third Manalapan resident called police to report that their 2017 Lexus LX was taken from their driveway. The Lexus, valued at $100,000, had also been left unlocked with the key fob inside.

On Sunday, Oct. 14, three luxury SUVs were stolen from Fair Haven driveways on Sunday, Oct. 14. The cars that were stolen were a Range Rover, Mercedes and Audi, Fair Haven police said. They were stolen from driveways on Park Road, Princeton Road and Forrest Avenue.

They had all been left unlocked and with the key fobs inside, Fair Haven police said. Two of the three SUVs have been recovered.
