Veteran Of The Year Nominations Are Due In Holmdel
Holmdel is putting out the call for suggestions for its annual Veteran of the Year honor. Send in nominations by Oct. 8.
HOLMDEL, NJ — The township is asking residents to nominate veterans for its 2022 Veteran of the Year Award, which will be presented at its Veteran’s Memorial Day Ceremony.
Nominations should be made by Oct. 8.
The award will be given to a living Holmdel veteran who has not only served the U.S. with honor, but has also used his or her leadership skills and abilities to improve the Holmdel community.

Here are the criteria for the nominations:
- Must be a resident of Holmdel.
- Must be a living veteran of one of the six Armed Forces of the United States, including Reserve or National Guard or the U.S. Merchant Marines.
- Must have demonstrated outstanding patriotism, leadership and selfless service as a veteran and as a volunteer in the community or in civic service.
- May be awarded for a single act or continuous service.
- May not be a previous recipient of the Holmdel Township Veteran of the Year award.
The Township is accepting nominations until Oct. 8. Submissions can be mailed, hand-delivered or emailed to Holmdel Township, Office of Administration, Attn: Veteran of the Year, 4 Crawfords Corner Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
