Veterans' Voices Are Important To Holmdel Government
Holmdel encourages veterans to register for services and events
HOLMDEL, N.J.— The township is committed to listening to veterans' voices, and is gearing up a program to hear about their needs and take in their input.
Mayor Greg Buontempo was primarily behind the program that started in mid-2021, said Barbara Kovelesky of the administrator's office.
But now it's taking off.

"We plan a roundtable, special events and promotions," Kovelesky said.
"He (Buontempo) really wants to hear from the veterans' community in Holmdel," she said, adding that veterans from other communities can also participate.

"It's about developing meaningful partnerships to drive the growth of services, programs and reverence for our veterans, therefore, building a stronger community," a statement on the township website says.
The program would tap into the diverse range of history, ideas and talents of veterans. The township would host quarterly Veteran Town Hall meetings to hear from our local veterans about what is important to them and how the township can help.
The Township is asking community veterans to identify themselves to be recognized and supported for their service.
