Water Main Break Briefly Snarls Route 35 in Holmdel

HOLMDEL, NJ - A water main break in Holmdel that impacted Route 35 traffic was repaired by 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning, state transportation officials confirmed.

It prompted commuting delays in the area of Route 35 southbound at Route 516/South Laurel Avenue in Holmdel, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Two lanes were temporarily closed.

There was a 12-inch main break in the area late Wednesday, confirmed New Jersey American Water spokesperson Denise V. Free.

There were traffic impacts due to the location, she said, and there were about 50 customer service interruptions while the repairs were made, she said.
