Water Main Break Collapses Part of Laurel Avenue In Holmdel
An area of Laurel Avenue between Avon Drive and Boxwood Terrace is closed and should remain so until Wednesday morning, police say.

HOLMDEL, NJ — A water main break has caused flooding and a partial collapse of Laurel Avenue and drivers can expect it to be closed at least through the evening until Wednesday morning, police confirmed Tuesday afternoon.
The road is still closed between Avon Drive and Boxwood Terrace, said Lt. Robert Philhower, of the Holmdel police department. A sinkhole formed after the water main break is a danger to drivers, he added.
He said there was a second main break in the area, but utility contractors are on site working on the problem.
