Why I'm Voting for DJ and Joe

At times like this, what we tend to see are messages to vote AGAINST someone. People like to stoke anger with the expectation that angry people are more inclined to vote – especially in elections where voter turnout can be low.

I’m not voting AGAINST anyone. I’m voting FOR DJ Luccarelli and Joe Romano for Holmdel Township Committee. Here’s why …

Having worked closely with DJ for two years now, I’ve come to know him as great leader in our community who is singularly focused on what’s best for our town. He works with everyone, reaches across the aisle, and truly wants to do the right thing. His overall decency to his colleagues, to our township employees, and - most importantly - to the tax-paying public, has had a calming influence on our township and allowed us to focus on the things that are most important: slowing government spending, supporting public safety, and preserving of our town’s history and culture. He’s more than earned re-election.

The word earned remains relevant when you choose to cast your vote for Joe Romano. I’ve personally seen Joe knocking on doors, attending events, meeting people, asking for their perspective, and offering his own insights. He’s engaging as we should hope a candidate would – working to earn your vote every day, respecting the opinions of everyone he speaks to, and always keeping what’s best for our community top of mind. He wants to contribute to our community in a more significant way and, I believe, has what it takes to do so.

DJ and Joe have the right mindset, approach, and focus to lead our community into the future - I’m voting FOR them, and I sincerely hope you do too.
