Woman Hit By Car Wednesday Morning in Hazlet
The woman suffered serious injuries in the Laurel Ave. crash and had to be medevaced by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson hospital.

Hazlet, NJ - A female pedestrian was hit by a car Wednesday morning in Hazlet, police confirmed to Patch, and she suffered injuries serious enough that she required to be rushed by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson, the state's Level 1 Trauma Center.
The accident happened on Laurel Avenue at 6th Street, Det. Lt. Ted Wittke of the Hazlet Township police said. The woman was seriously injured in the crash, and she needed to be medevaced by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. That part of Laurel Ave. was shut down Wednesday after the crash and drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.
As of 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office is on the scene investigating. No charges have been filed at this time. Patch will update this story with more information when we get it, including whether or not the woman was a Hazlet resident.
