HOPATCONG, NJ — The Lake Hopatcong Block Party will return to Hopatcong State Park this weekend, bringing together businesses, nonprofit organizations, community groups and food vendors for one of the region’s largest annual community events.
The event, hosted by the Lake Hopatcong Foundation, is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hopatcong State Park in Landing. Admission is free and the event will be held rain or shine.
Organizers said the block party will feature more than 200 vendors and exhibitors, along with entertainment, demonstrations, raffles, giveaways and activities for families throughout the day.
Planned attractions include a children’s scavenger hunt, touch-a-truck area, food vendors and boat rides. Community organizations and local businesses from around the Lake Hopatcong region are also expected to participate.
“The Block Party is a great reflection of the energy and character of the Lake Hopatcong community,” Lake Hopatcong Foundation Executive Director Kyle Richter said in a statement published by Morris Focus.
Organizers said onsite parking at Hopatcong State Park will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for a $10 cash donation. Free offsite parking with shuttle service will also be offered.
The annual event has become a seasonal kickoff tradition for the Lake Hopatcong area, drawing residents and visitors from across Morris and Sussex counties.
