SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ — One person is dead, and more are injured following a head-on car crash in Sussex County this weekend.
On Saturday, around 2:15 p.m, Andover Township police were called to US Highway 206 near the Andover Borough line on reports of a major crash.
Authorities determined that a vehicle traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a southbound vehicle, officials said.
The crash resulted in three casualties. One person was taken by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center, another taken by helicopter to Morristown Medical Center, and a third taken by ambulance to the Newton Medical Center Emergency Department.
The person taken to the Newton Medical Center Emergency Department was pronounced dead there that day.
Authorities are waiting on next-of-kin notification before releasing the identities of the victims.
The crash is still under investigation.
