HOPATCONG, NJ — Hopatcong residents gathered for Halloween festivities and an America 250 Time Capsule Ceremony over the weekend.
In an Oct. 24 Facebook post, Councilwoman Jennifer Johnson celebrated the success of the borough's Halloween Parade & Festival and America 250 Time Capsule Ceremony.
"A huge thank you to all the volunteers, Recreation Department, and Borough staff who worked hard behind the scenes to bring these events together," Johnson write.
"It's always great to see our community come together, make memories, and celebrate Hopatcong!" she added.
As Patch previously reported, the borough invited local groups and organizations to contribute approved items to the capsule.
The time capsule is scheduled to be reopened in 2051.
