HOPATCONG, NJ — Drivers traveling along Lakeside Avenue will notice new signs reminding them to slow down.
Four "High Density Residential Area" signs instructing drivers to watch their speed have been installed following concerns from residents about speeding, according to a Facebook post by Hopatcong Councilwoman Jennifer Johnson.
The speed limit along Lakeside Avenue is 35 mph.
Johnson said the Hopatcong Borough Council worked with Sussex County to address the concerns.
The signs are intended to increase driver awareness and encourage motorists to slow down.
"It's a simple improvement, but one that helps make our roads safer for everyone," Johnson said.
