HOPEWELL-PENNINGTON, NJ — Staying home and sharing a meal may be easy, but these four Hopewell and Pennington restaurants are giving couples a reason to turn an ordinary weekday into a date night.
Antimo’s Italian Kitchen offers an appealing option for couples seeking a full sit-down dinner at a set price for a weekday out that won’t break the bank. Its $29 three-course menu is available Monday through Thursday at 52 E. Broad St. in Hopewell and includes homemade bread with the restaurant’s signature dipping olive oil. Diners can choose a salad, an entree and dessert, with selections including chicken Parmesan, drunken shrimp linguine, eggplant Parmesan, cannoli and Nutella bread pudding.
For a more polished night out, Brick Farm Tavern serves dinner Tuesday through Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. Located inside a renovated farmhouse at 130 Hopewell-Rocky Hill Road, the restaurant centers its menu on pasture-raised meats and seasonal ingredients. Its August dinner menu includes marinated burrata with local heirloom tomatoes, a pasture-raised charcuterie board and handmade pasta with blistered cherry tomatoes and lemon pesto. Couples interested in sharing an entree can choose from a free-range whole chicken, a 48-ounce tomahawk ribeye or the butcher’s daily selection.

The Italian Table, a BYOB restaurant at 101 E. Broad St. in Hopewell, serves dinner Tuesday through Thursday. Couples can bring a favorite bottle and settle into one of its three dining rooms for dishes such as butternut squash ravioli, linguine with clams, shrimp scampi, salmon Casalingo and veal saltimbocca.
For an early date, Wildflowers Inn Restaurant at 2572 Pennington Road in Pennington offers happy hour Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and bar service. Couples can start with Shazam shrimp tossed in sweet chili sauce or clams or mussels prepared roasted, scampi-style, with marinara, red sauce or fra diavolo. Entree choices include linguine with red clam sauce, chicken Parmesan, Red Bell Chicken and grilled or Cajun fish of the day. The menu also features an extensive selection of specialty pizzas.
