West Broad Street Detour, Water Work Continue This Week In Hopewell

Water work will continue on West Broad Street this week, bringing a detour and possible service interruptions.

HOPEWELL, NJ — Drivers and residents can expect more water infrastructure work in Hopewell this week, including a detour on West Broad Street and separate water meter replacement work.

A New Jersey American Water project on West Broad Street will continue Monday through Friday, weather permitting, according to a borough traffic advisory.

The project includes installation of a new water main. West Broad Street will be detoured at Louellen (Route 518) and Van Dyke Road during construction, with only local resident and business traffic permitted through the work area. Businesses in the area will remain open and accessible during the detour, the borough said.

This week's work also includes changing and replacing service connections, which could cause a short service interruption, pressure changes, discoloration or cloudy water. Individual residents will be notified when their service connection is scheduled for an update.

Separate water meter replacement work is also planned this week in the northeast portion of the borough. No road closures are anticipated for that work.
