• Rescued Box Turtles Prepare for Winter at Mercer County Wildlife Center (mercerme.com) — Hundreds of rescued box turtles are spending the winter at the Mercer County Wildlife Center in Hopewell Township, where staff are building new "Brumation Stations" outdoor enclosures to mimic natural conditions. The center is still caring for many of the 219 turtles dumped in Cranford in July and is seeking donations to cover food, supplies, and veterinary care through the colder months.
   

• Philadelphia man accused of running illegal slot gambling in 30 NJ businesses (newsbreak.com) — Hopewell police officers joined a large multi-agency team that helped Trenton detectives shut down an alleged illegal slot machine ring tied to more than 30 city businesses. Authorities seized over 70 machines and more than $100,000, and a Philadelphia man now faces gambling and money laundering charges, while Trenton business owners involved are also being prosecuted.
