PENNINGTON, NJ — Pennington residents looking to get more involved in their community have a new opportunity, with 11 volunteer positions available on borough boards, commissions and committees.
In an Oct. 21 announcement, Mayor James M. Davy invited residents to apply as the borough finalizes appointments for 2027.
Openings include three positions on Parks and Recreation, two on the Library Board of Trustees and two on the Shade Tree Committee.
There is also one opening each on the Planning Board, Board of Health, Hopewell Valley Open Space Committee and Economic Development Commission.
Davy emphasized that residents don't need specialized experience to participate.
"You don't need to be an expert to serve," Davy wrote. "What matters most is a genuine interest in Pennington and a willingness to listen, learn, and work alongside your neighbors."
"Whether your background is in business, education, the environment, health, design, or simply a lifelong love of this town, there is a place for you," Davy added.
Davy also offered to answer questions about the time commitment and responsibilities of the positions.
Interested residents should complete the borough's Citizen Leadership Volunteer Form and email it to jdavy@pennington.org.
