2 Helicopters Flying Low For Inspections In Howell: Police
The county's mosquito control commission and JCP&L are both flying over the township, police said.
HOWELL, NJ — Howell Township police say they are aware of two helicopters flying low over the township on Friday, and that residents should not be worried.
A green-and-white helicopter is from the Monmouth County Mosquito Control Commission. The commission uses helicopters to evaluate sites where mosquitoes are known to breed, so decisions can be made about applying a larvicide to kill the mosquito larvae.
In addition, there is a black-and-red helicopter, hired by Jersey Central Power & Light, that is being used to inspect power lines after the damaging wind storm on Monday.
