2 Howell Teens Injured In Serious Crash: Police
Police said the driver was in critical condition following Monday's crash on Hulses Corner Road.

HOWELL, NJ — A Howell Township teenager was in critical condition Monday and his passenger was injured as well when his pickup truck hit a tree in Howell, police said.
The crash was reported at 2:33 p.m., Howell Patrolman Matthew Cherney said. The 17-year-old driver was headed east on Hulses Corner Road toward Route 9 when he lost control of his 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup and hit a tree.
The driver had to be extricated from the pickup truck and evidence at the scene indicated he was not wearing his seat belt, Cherney said. Southard Fire Department and Freewood Acres Fire Department extricated him with assistance from Howell First Aid. The driver was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Howell First Aid and MONOC paramedics and remains in critical condition with significant injuries, Cherney said.

His passenger, also a Howell 17-year-old, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Cherney at 732-938-4575, ext. 2629.
