2 Hurt As Car Overturns In Creek In Howell: Police

The injuries were minor, police said.

HOWELL, NJ — Two people escaped with minor injuries Saturday when the car they were in hit a guardrail and overturned into the Tarkiln Brook on Route 547 in Howell, police said.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. Saturday and forced the closure of Route 547 while the car was removed from the brook, which flows under Route 547 just north of Oak Glen Road.

Police did not identify the occupants of the car but said both climbed out and had minor injuries.

Howell Police and EMS were assisted by Ramtown and Southard fire companies and Certified Auto Mall, which brought a crane to lift the car out of the brook.
