3 Riders Hospitalized After 3 Motorcycles Crash On Route 9 In Howell

The crash disrupted Route 9 for a few hours Tuesday night.

HOWELL, NJ — Three people were injured when a trio of motorcycles crashed on Route 9 in Howell on Tuesday, Howell police said.

The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. on Route 9 at New Friendship Road, Police Chief John Storrow said.

The three motorcyclists — a 33-year-old from Brick who was riding a 2026 Suzuki GSX-R750; a 32-year-old from Toms River riding a 2011 Kawasaki ZX, and a 24-year-old from Toms River also riding a 2011 Kawasaki ZX1 — were headed south on Route 9 when all three motorcycles collided with each other, Storrow said.

The motorcyclists were not identified further. All three suffered moderate injuries, he said, and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information can call Howell Patrolman Kyle Bush of the Traffic Safety unit at 732-938-4575, ext. 2667.

In addition to Howell police, Howell Police EMS, Howell Township First Aid & Rescue Squad #1, Southard Fire Department, Atlantic Health Paramedics, the state Department of Transportation and Certified Auto Mall responded to the crash, Storrow said.
