Five people were seriously hurt in a head-on crash near Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, state police say.

Five people were seriously hurt in a head-on crash in New Jersey, state police say.
The accident happened around 9:28 p.m. Friday on Route 537 near milepost 40, according to the State Police, just miles from Six Flags in Jackson.
One westbound vehicle headed across the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head-on, police said. Another westbound car also was involved.

Those hurt included: two 17-year-old males, a 23-year-old female, a 24-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, police said. No one was identified by police, police said.
The road was closed while police tended to the accident, which is under investigation.
